Kicking off the trade-fair season at ProSweets in Cologne

For the second time, CWC was present at ProSweets in Cologne. This international trade fair for the confectionery and snack industries traditionally takes place every year in late January parallel to the ISM, the international confectionery trade show. It is a can't-miss event and global happening for the entire sector and has grown to include some 20,000 visitors. From January 28-31, 2018, ProSweets was the perfect venue for presenting the excellent processing properties and features of California walnuts to interested industry visitors including purchasers, product developers and marketing experts.

The culinary focus was on offering samples of creative snacks and innovative kinds of walnut spreads. These samples were both served directly at the booth and passed by caterers. The visitors could taste for themselves how delicious California walnuts and their products taste. Umami flavors seem to be all but predestined for California walnuts as the ideal partner for a wide range of foods and ingredients ranging from sweet to savory.

Food scientist Peter Mark was also at the booth to provide technical expertise. He has been conducting research in the field of industrial baked goods for over 25 years. Beyond that, he is an expert in the use of walnuts in the food industry and culinary trades. He shared his knowledge to answer all of the questions that visitors had about the features and benefits of California walnuts in a number of different foods such as snacks, baked goods and confectionery products.
