Alimentaria – Food pairing and exclusive cooking shows in Barcelona

This year once again, CWC was on site in Barcelona with a booth at Alimentaria, one of the world's most important trade fairs for food, beverages and the hospitality industry. From April 16-19, 2018, over 3,000 industry visitors came to the CWC booth and learned more about the health benefits of California walnuts, their incredibly versatile nature as an ingredient in the food industry and in all kinds of cooking and baking recipes.

The sessions on food pairing were true highlights of the event. They illustrated how well walnuts could be combined with other foods and related flavors. Over forty industry visitors took part in exclusive cooking demonstrations where star-winning chef Gonzalo D'Ambrosio presented some of the many different ways to cook with California walnuts: sweet croissants with coconut and walnut as well as zesty ravioli filled with walnut pesto showcased the delicate flavor and pleasant texture of cooking with walnuts.

All of the visitors to the booth were greeted with samples of the innovative spreads which inspire brand new ways to use California walnuts. These delicious compositions were offered along with a special walnut bread, walnuts seasoned with rosemary, curry and Cajun spices, and of course the ever-popular combination of walnuts and chocolate.
