The CWC is a Commission established under the State of California to represent over 4.000 walnut growers and over 90 handlers of California.
The California Walnut Commission
Increasing exports all over the world and the tapping of new markets led to the founding of the California Walnut Commission (CWC) in 1987. This non-profit-organization represents California's walnut producers. Its prime object is to develop and promote international sales markets. Apart from comprehensive market analyses, the Commission conducts generic marketing programs, cooperates closely with business representatives and supports scientific research projects, which examine health aspects of walnut consumption. The Commission consists of 13 members and their representatives. These include eight to ten walnut producers and their representatives, two to four walnut traders and a public member.
